Hallie's Iconic Boyz Birthday Cakes

Yes, folks, you read that correctly: cakeS!  Nothing but the best for my baby girl, Hallie Rose!  I realized that I begin describing all of Hallie's birthdays the same way by stating that 9/28/99 was spectacular, blah, blah, blah.  Yes, it is true, however, this year with my Lovely Lexi Joy living away at college (thank you, God), my Sweet Hallie Rose gets the lion's share of my physical attention while big sis occupies most of my emotional consideration.

Anywho, Hallie wanted her party to spotlight her latest male obsession:  The Iconic Boyz. Since watching the BOYZ dance themselves into her heart on ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew for all of you non dance lovin folks).  We had a very nice family party, then followed that up that evening with her very first (and last) slumber party; hence the 2 cakes.

Happy Birthday, my Sweet baby Girl!!  I love you more than you will ever know.  Now start kickin in around here!  Your 12 for cryin-out-loud  : )

Cheap Vodka Bottle Cake

Ok, Cousin Jeanna's son, Cousin Joey, is a legal adult!  Woo Hoo!!  Look out watering holes!

Anywho, I thought it would be kind of silly to make him a birthday cake featuring a cheap bottle of vodka; pretty much all that a poor student could afford, right?

Everyone liked the funfetti cake with almond butter cream frosting, however, in line with being a cheap bottle of alcohol, the "bottle" part of the cake started to lean a bit.  What else would you expect from the cheap stuff  : )

Penguin Birthday Cake

This cake was made for Alicia, older sister to Haylie, who is friends with my Sweet Hallie Rose.  Her parents hosted a black and white sweet 16 party for her.  She decided that a Penguin cake would go perfectly with the theme.  This decorator agrees.  I think it came out great, and the recipient was very pleased.

Anywho, happy sweet 16, Alicia!  You are a lovely young lady entering an exciting time in your life.  Enjoy  :)

Happy Birthday My Beautiful Niece, Shaunna

Lucky me with all these ladies in my life!!  Daughters and nieces only.  I usually make some really crazy cake for Shaunna, but this year her party was moved up to accommodate vacations.  The cake was awesome, none the less.  This little flower garden cake is a dark chocolate cake, mocha filling and my yummy chocolate frosting.  Delish!

Anywho, it was a wonderful day for the lil cutie.  Did I mention that the party was a surprise to her?  Happy birthday, Shaunna!!  You rock  :)

Nicole's Birthday Cake

This is the second cake I made for Nicole this month!!  LOL  Scroll down to she her graduation cake.  Happy 18th birthday, Nicole.  Now go register to vote, will ya  :)

Nicole's WHS Graduation Cake

Nicole and Lexi were in first grade together.  Both fortunate enough to have Miss Leeann Sadowski as their first grade teacher.  I remember when Nicole would come over to play with Lex..........I would ask if they wanted something to eat or drink.  Nicole was so shy she would whisper her reply to Lexi.  So cute!!  Fast forward to high school:  Tony, my DH, picked the girls up from dance class and is shocked when he learns that "Nicole talks now!"  LOL

Anywho, Nicole has become quite a lovely young lady and I am happy to be her personal cake designer.  Off to college in the fall, Vermont, no less.  Her momma, Jean, my BFF tells me she is going to miss her girl.  I can see why.  Nicole has become a lovely young lady and I am honored to know her.   You go, girl  :)

Still Farming at 50!!

Ok, really funny story behind this Farmville cake, which by the way, I made for my wonderful Hubby.  You see, Hubby is turning the BIG 5-0 this week and my mission was to create a cake which had special meaning for him.  Considering that his time is primarily spent working or caring for his girls, (me and our 2 lovelies) he has very little time for hobbies.  Until he discovered Farmville, that is!  He would spend ALL of his free time harvesting his crops and finding eggs (ask my brother, Michael about that one!).  I also had to make Lexi's graduation cake that weekend as they shared their celebrations (2fers: sign of the times).  I can't believe his Farmville escapades had totally slipped my brain when my very good friend, Lisa, reminded me.  She did come up with the phrase, "Still Farming at 50", which is prominently displayed on the other side of the cake, but suggested I buy  farm figures!  I nearly passed a stone upon hearing that one!!  Alas, once Lisa caught a glimpse of my handiwork, she admitted her flaw.   Anywho,  that's how I roll!
Happy Birthday my hunka hunka burnin love!!  Still as sexy as ever :)

Lexi's Wildcat Graduation Cake

I am the proud mother of a High School Grad!!  Woo hoo!!  Ya, I am feeling every one of those 18 years of motherhood!  My Lovely Lexi;  smart funny, assertive, feisty and basically a good kid.  We have our moments, but she never leaves without telling me she loves me.  She stole my heart 18 years ago, and and still has a grip on it. Anywho,  tomorrow is the big celebration at our home.  I cooked and cleaned and made her this cute little sucker to mark the occasion.
My beautiful daughter, the world is yours.  Grab the bull by the horns and go!  I am so very proud of you!  I know a special angel in heaven who is beaming with pride himself  :)

Can't Get Away From HS Fast Enough!

Ok, it is graduation season and I am open!!  Lots of graduation cakes this year and this is one of my favorites.  In our family, not only did my princess, Lexi, graduate, but Cousin Jeanna's twins, Josh and Jon graduated too.  I love those boys!  They are great kids with sensational senses of humor. (Is that proper grammar?  lol)  Jeanna and I decided that there really isn't anything funny about graduation.  No, seriously, there really isn't!!  So, in my lame attempt to add humor where no humor has gone before, I decided that 2 pair of sneakers donned with caps, running like hell away from high school, was kind of silly.  You think?    So this is the end result.  Anywho, don't really run, boys.  This is going to be a great summer for you before you enter the big house, I mean college.   = )   Enjoy, but not too much.  Love you guys!

Cello Cake

This cello cake was made for a lovely young lady, Kristina,  who graduated high school with my daughter, Lexi.  She is a very talented musician.  Guess what instrument she plays? (chuckle, chuckle)  Her mom called to tell me that Kay (her nickname) loved the cake!  Makes this decorator proud!    Anywho, congrats, Kay!  I know you are going to do great things with your music  =)

Playboy Bunny Birthday Cake

My boys are 18!! Woo hoo!! Well, I didn't actually give birth to them, nor did I raise em, but Cousin Jeanna's 3 boys are mine, too!!
Anywho, the twins, Jon and Josh, made it to adulthood. Cousin Jeanna was like all shocked that I remembered their favorite cake flavor was Funfetti. Heck, just said they were mine, too!!!
Heading off to college in the fall along with my real daughter, Lexi. Man, how time flies!! 18 years ago, they were having their lil diapers changed. I must remember to remind their dates of those nasty ol Huggies!
Now, go register to vote like good little Americans and kick in with the groceries from time to time, will ya? Love you guys :)

1st Holy Communion Cake

I wonder if the recipient of this little gem named this little Communion girl? I would call her......hmmmmm.......GRACE!! So beautiful and graceful! (not to mention I live on Grace Drive so that was the first name that came to me! LOL) When the mom called on me to make something different for her little girl's Communion, I set my creative wheels in motion and decided this would be different. Most of my customers want some sort of a cross, or challis, but not this customer! And boy, am I glad I get to think outside of the box :)
Anywho, this little ditty has a strawberry cake base and a french vanilla skirt. They wanted to keep it simple so my butter cream frosting covers both cakes. Since I cannot and will not sell any cake unless it passes my taste test, I can assure you that this cake sure was tasty! Which is why I will NEVER be a size 6! LOL
I hope Alison, the little girl for whom this cake was made, had a beautiful day . I bet she was just as pretty as her cake :)

Camper Cake

I got a call for this cake on short notice. Because the customer was recommended by one of my good customers, I wanted to come through.

Seems there was a bake off involving family members who shared birthdays. The brightest sibling put the call out to me for help. She explained that having 4 small children would certainly pose a problem in baking and decorating herself. Agreed.

Any who, she wanted this cake because her brother and wife have a camper that they enjoy. I was provided with many details about this campsite and tried to get them all in. Never been campin m'self, so I hope I came through! I wouldn't mind hanging out on that deck with a cold one though............ :)

Grandma's 96TH Birthday Cake (yes, 96!!)

I come from seriously good genes........I think. My maternal grandmother is one hell of a fire cracker. She had a very unusual and difficult childhood. If not for her feisty character, she probably wouldn't have survived. Her fighting spirit has brought her very far!!

Any who, Gram is in a nursing home now. She took care of herself up until last year. If she didn't take a fall last June, she would STILL be living alone, caring for herself. Amazing, really. We brought the cake to her on her birthday, Friday, April 23rd. She doesn't care for chocolate cake so I made her this French Vanilla cake with my secret recipe buttercream frosting. I added lots of fondant flowers, which she got a kick out of. She thought they were cookies! It was a special day.

Happy Birthday Gram! I wish you many more. I know that I will see your face on TV when you turn 100 :)

Can You Hear Me Now?

Hear (lol) we have Cousin Michael's birthday cake. He turned forty this year and his beautiful wife, Cousin Lauren, planned one hell of a shindig....from what I can remember :) We have been making fun of Cousin Mike for many years for always having his Bluetooth device in his ear. One time Cousin Jeanna wore her flip phone on her ear to poke fun at him! He chose this cake, even though it was a surprise party, (HA!). Lauren chose the flavor: Devil's food cake with mocha filling. It is quite a delish combo, I might add. Listen up..................Thank you, Lauren for such a wonder time. Staying at the John Carver Inn was a blast. Let's do it again next year :)

Western Retirement Cake

Let me pull the straw from my teeth so I can explain this beauty.......Ok, now, this cake was made for a surprise retirement party. The recipient, an avid country dancer, plans to hang up her pumps for a comfy pair of boots. She needs the hat to complete the ensemble, and thus begin her golden years. I certainly hope this white cake with chocolate mousse filing is the beginning of a very long, happy, square dancin retirement. Congrats :)

Stacey's Pickle Cake

Lil sis is really gaining on me in years! Chuckle, chuckle. Yet, another birthday. Last year, Stacey hit the birthday cake jackpot when I made her 3 cakes. This year, I opted to make her but one. Yes, it is a pickle. Again, I ask you to think Jersey Shore. (I know, but it's like a train wreck: you can't stop watching!!) Our fav lil gal, Snooki, sure does love those pickles. This cake was the brain child of Hallie, my daughter, and Shaunna, Stacey's lil girl. They really wanted the "fist pump", but I steered them in this direction.

This baby definitely tasted better than ANY pickle I've ever eaten. Devil's Food cake, my rich and creamy chocolate frosting and a luscious mocha filling. Yum! There wasn't a dry eye in the place :)

Baby Girl Shower Cake

Look how cute that cake is!!! No, really. Look at it! Kim, the younger sister of my oldest and dearest friend, Lisa, hosted a baby shower for her friend. I was thrilled to learn she was interested in a baby shower cake. You see, I had this cake idea dancing around my head for a while and decided it was time for it to bust-a-move!!
Yes, it was a lot of work. Tons of details! But it sure was fun to create. I heard it was a hit at the shower. Almost makes me want another daughter........NOT!! Mother to the very sexy Lexi and the incredibly sweet Hallie Rose is plenty. Besides, Dh certainly doesn't need a 4th wife! Welcome to the world, little baby girl! I know your mommy will have the best time shopping for all of your clothes and accessories! I sure did :)

Johnny's Birthday Cake

All I can think of is, "Burgers for the boys, burgers for the boys!" Jersey Shore fans will undoubtedly get it. My younger brother, Johnny, celebrated his 47Th birthday this weekend. Considering that we are days away from the 1 year anniversary of our dad's death, we wanted to make it a special day. Next weekend is going to be a tough one.
Any who, I was in the mood to create something completely whimsical when this idea popped into my brain. He loved the cake. Particularly the brownie "hamburger" in the center of the cake. The only obstacle was cutting that humongous sucker up. Never fear, I sliced that bad boy up before anyone could say, "Burgers for the boys, burgers for the boys!" Hold the pickles :)

Ugly Sweater Cake

It ain't ugly! It's cuuuuuuuute!! (think Clarissa and Rudolph) My darling daughter, Lexi, was invited to an Ugly Sweater Party this holiday season. You got to admit, there are some pretty nasty sweaters out there at Christmas time. Why? Seriously, why? And who is wearing these atrocious eye sores anyway! Right?
Any who, of course, my lil darling girl offered up my services free of charge. It's all good. Tis the season to give with a warm heart. Hope the guests enjoyed the cake ")
